Hussein Assi, MD is an oncologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC), specializing in gastrointestinal malignancies, with a special focus on neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Dr. Assi is also an assistant professor of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Assi received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and completed his residency in internal medicine at Albany Medical Center. He went on to complete a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology and receive a master’s degree in clinical and translational science from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Assi’s research focuses on studying prognostic biomarkers in pancreatic NETs, with the ultimate goal of developing novel therapeutics for NETs.
