Neelam A. Vashi, MD, is a dermatologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Dr. Vashi is also Director of the Boston University Cosmetic and Laser Center and Founder/Director of the Boston University Center for Ethnic Skin, one of only a few clinics in the U.S to specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of skin and hair conditions unique to men and women from ethnic backgrounds. She is also an assistant professor of Dermatology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Vashi is a recognized leader in medical and cosmetic dermatology, training fellows from around the world through her role as Director of the International Training Program in Cosmetic Medicine. Dr. Vashi’s research interests include skin hyperpigmentation, chemical peels, health literacy, and sun protection. She has written extensively on the approach to cutaneous hyperpigmentation, disorders of pigmentation, and cosmetic treatments of dyschromic disorders, and published a book, Beauty and Body Dysmorphic Disorder: A Clinician’s Guide, in 2017.
