Arvin Garg, MD, MPH

Dr. Arvin Garg is Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center.  Dr. Garg received his B.A. in Behavioral Biology from Johns Hopkins University, M.P.H from Boston University School of Public Health, and his medical doctorate from Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He created WE CARE and has been working with his team to further understand WE CARE's effectiveness and impact on children and families.

 


 

Michelle Pellicer

Michelle participates in WE CARE's research projects, managing and coordinating project staff, activities, and deliverables, conducting data collection and analysis, and writing research publications.  She has been with the WE CARE team since 2014.

 

Michelle received her bachelor's degree in 2007 from Tufts University and her MPH in 2011 from Boston University's School of Public Health.

 


 

Annelise Brochier

As a research coordinator in the Boston Medical Center Department of Pediatrics, Annelise oversees data collection and data management for two multisite trials evaluating the implementation of WE CARE in pediatric primary care and pediatric hematology.

 

Annelise received her BS in Physiology & Neuroscience from University of California, San Diego in 2014 and her MPH from Boston University School of Public Health in 2017 with concentrations in Epidemiology & Biostatistics and Social Justice, Human Rights & Health Equity. She joined the WE CARE study team in 2018.

 


 

Emily Messmer

Emily is an MPH student at Boston University School of Public Health, and is a Research Assistant for Dr. Garg’s WE CARE research studies.

 

Emily received her BS in Neuroscience from Rhodes College in 2018 and plans on completing her MPH in May 2020 with concentrations in Community Assessment, Program Design, Implementation, & Evaluation (CAPDIE) and Maternal & Child Health.

 


 

Stephen Rogers

Stephen is a medical student at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine who has just completed his third year, and is now taking time to work on Dr. Garg's research team. He plans on pursuing a career in Pediatrics, and is interested in studying the effects of poverty and unmet needs on children's health, and learning more about health policy.

 


 

Mikayla Gordon Wexler

Mikayla is a Research Assistant involved in the implementation of Dr. Garg’s current WE CARE research studies. 

 

Mikayla graduated with a BA in Anthropology from Amherst College in May 2019. She looks to eventually attend medical school and pursue a career addressing the socioeconomic disparities that affect children’s health through approaches that center community and family voices.
