BMC’s Yawkey building doors are now closed as an entrance as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our campus and provide you with the best clinical care.

All patients and visitors on our main campus must enter our hospital via Shapiro, Menino, or Moakley buildings, where they will be greeted by team members at a new centralized check-in desk before continuing to the hospital. We are excited to welcome you and appreciate your patience as we improve our facilities.

Crisis / Same Day Mental Health Services

Crisis Services (24/7, 365 day a year)

  • Call or text the Mass Behavioral Health Helpline 833-773-2445 or visit masshelpline.com to locate your nearest mobile crisis team.
  • Crisis services (covered for all ages, with or without insurance) can include crisis triage, evaluation, assessment, de-escalation, and connection to higher level of mental health care.
  • Parents, friends, and other supports can call on behalf of a loved one they are concerned about. 

Psychiatric Urgent Care

  • For MassHealth members (some UC sites may take additional insurance)
  • Services include urgent assessment (same or next day), substance use treatment, MH referrals
  • "An 'urgent BH need' may include changes in behavior or thoughts that cause distress and require immediate support through psychiatric evaluation or therapy."
  • Not for individuals experiencing symptoms placing themselves or others at immediate risk of harm (instead contact 833-773-2445 or 911)
  • UC sites offer extended hours on weekdays and weekends
