BMC’s Yawkey building doors are now closed as an entrance as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our campus and provide you with the best clinical care.

All patients and visitors on our main campus must enter our hospital via Shapiro, Menino, or Moakley buildings, where they will be greeted by team members at a new centralized check-in desk before continuing to the hospital. Epis is a Haitian seasoning mix made from peppers, fresh herbs, and spices. Use epis to season meat, fish, soups, and stews. Check out our Legume recipe for a warm and flavorful stew idea! 

Ingredients


Herbs – 1 cup (assorted fresh parsley, green onions, and thyme) Bell-Pepper – 1 small (red or green) Onion – 1 yellow or white Garlic – 6 fresh cloves Habanero_Pepper – 1-2 green or red Ground-Cloves – ½ teaspoon (optional) Limes - 1, juiced Vinegar – 1 Tablespoon white vinegar Bouillon – 1-2 packets/cubes, low sodium (optional) Oil – ¼ cup vegetable or canola oil Water – 1-2 Tablespoons

Instructions

Step 1
Roughly chop the herbs, pepper and onion, and peel the garlic.
Step 2
Add all ingredients into a blender or food process.
Step 3
Blend until a paste-like consistency. If too thick, add water 1 Tablespoon at a time.
Step 4
Pour into a jar and store in the refrigerator.
